Province Family Day of South East India Province was held on 1st & 2nd October 2025 at Provincialate, Trichy. It was a special occasion of fraternal union of coming together as fransalians confreres to refresh, relish, rejuvenate and rejoice. Family day was begun with the spiritual nourishment of Holy Eucharistic celebration. The Inaugural function was begun with the prayer by Fr. C. Sebastin Raj. Fr. A. Patrick Jayaraj, the Provincial Superior unveiled the theme ‘FROM THE SAME ROOT’ and welcomed all to the family day. Fr. Rayappan highlighted the theme. Fr. A. Jeyaseelan described the dynamics of the day.
The first day was enthusiastically engaged with matches of games; Volleyball, BasketBall, Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Carroms, Draught, Bomb in the city. The six Apostolic Communities participated in the games as vibrant teams with enthusiasm and team spirit. All the teams brought out the best among them and showcased the talents of the confreres. The cultural evening was the moment of exhibiting each one’s talents with various programmes of entertainment.
The Final Matches of Volleyball, BasketBall, Table Tennis and Carroms were played on the second day. As the celebration of Thanksgiving to God, Holy Mass was celebrated as one family. The Convenors of Apostolic Community presided over the Mass. Fr. Johnson Jayapal was the main celebrant. Fr. A. Alphonse preached homily. Fr. Tony prayed for the province and the wellbeing of fathers.
The concluding ceremony was the reflection and the evaluation of the family day. The confreres came out with suggestions and proposals of innovative ideas for the family day. Many shared their satisfactions, compliments and appreciation over the arrangements. Rev. Fr. A. Patrick Jayaraj, Provincial Superior thanked and appreciated all the confreres for joining the family day and making it memorable and outstanding. He congratulated the organising committee Fr. A. Jeyaseelan, Fr. Sagayaraj, Fr. Christu raj, Fr. Deses, Fr. Jerome, Fr. Naveen., for the meticulous planning and organisation.
Results of matches were announced and Winners were awarded with prizes at the felicitation. All participants received gifts. In conclusion Fr. A. Jeyaseelan thanked all Apostolic community conveners for their support and cooperation. Fr. Mathias, Fr. Santhanam, Fr. Jerald and Fr. Michael Selvans were remembered with gratitude. The Family Day 2025 ended with a fellowship meal. We all departed to our ministries with invigorated and refilled moments of joy and happiness.
