To bring out the talents of our students and to show the oneness, an Inter- School Competition (games, sports and literary), was conducted by the SFS Group of Educational Institutions of the South East India Province on 19th of January 2018 at SFS school Vaniyambadi. The day began with the opening ceremony in the morning at 9.00 am. The inter school competition flag was hoisted, and the Olympic lamp was lit by Rev. Fr. George Parampukattil, Msfs the General Councilor -in-charge of Education and Rev. Fr. K. Ignacimuthu, Msfs the provincial of the Province respectively, followed by the march fast by the schools. The schools’ flags were also hoisted by the conferrers of their respective schools. Then the participants took the Sport’s Oath.
At 10.am the competitions began with Volleyball for the super seniors and simultaneously the literary competitions like speeches, solo singing, drawing and essay writing. After the lunch break, the athletics were conducted. From the neighboring colleges and the schools, the match officials and the judges were invited to conduct the competitions. There was also a three member Central Committee, which supervised the smooth going of the competitions. The members of the committee were Rev. Fr. Simon Msfs, Rev. Fr. Charles Msfs and Rev. Fr. Johnson Msfs. The competitions came to an end around 4.00 pm. After an hour of break, the awarding ceremony was scheduled.
The chief guest Rev. Fr. George Parampukattil, Msfs, the General Councilor -in-charge of Education, the guests of honour Rev. Fr. K. Ignacimuthu, Msfs, the provincial of the Province, Rev. Fr. J. B. John Thadews, Msfs, the Councilor -in-charge of Education of the province and the other guests marched to the stage in procession and with the invocation by a classical dance. Rev. Fr. Johnson Sagayaraj, the correspondent of SFS School Vaniyambadi, welcomed the guests and the gathering. The chief guest was honoured by Rev. Fr. Amirthanathan, the Procurator of SFS School Vaniyambadi and the Guests of honour was honoured by the SPL and the ASPL of the School. Rev. Fr. Amirthanathan welcomed the dignitaries with flowers.
During the program, the winners and the runners of the Group dance competition performed the dances and there were also two other dances by the students of SFS Vaniyambadi. The Chief Guest and the Guests of honour addressed the gathering and distributed the medals and certificates to the winners. Rev. Fr. Thadews after his address released his book, which was already published in German and now translated in Tamil. Rev. Fr. George Parampukattil, Msfs the General Councilor -in-charge of Education gave good message and declared SFS School, Vaniyambadi as the overall Champion. The SPL and the ASPL received the Rolling Trophy from him. Rev. Fr. Simon Msfs, the secretary of the educational forum gave the vote of thanks.

- In Remembrance of SFS
Being the 450th birth anniversary of St. Francis de Sales, our Patron, at the entrance of the school, a statue is installed blessed by Rev. Fr. A. Dharmaraj, Msfs on 21st of August 2017. To mark the year a stamp bearing the image of SFS was released. Rev. Fr. Arul Francis Msfs the principal of SFS School Virudhunagar released it.
- Desalites Designs
In the noble task of providing a holistic Education for its children, the SFS School Vaniyambadi creates an atmosphere, whereby every student realizes his/her worth and discovers the unrealized talents. As a mile stone in this effort, the SFS School brings out a quarterly periodical named Desalites Designs, containing the drawings, poems, stories and essays of our children. The first issue is being brought out under the theme “என் பாரம்பரியம்” i.e. MY HERITAGE. Rev. Fr. K. Ignacimuthu, Msfs the provincial of the Province released the first copy of Desalites Designs and Rev. Fr. Doss Msfs and Rev. Fr. Charles Msfs received the first copies of it. - SFS Geins: Fr. Nicolas, the Province Bursar of South East India Province inaugurated new software named SFSGEINS, which is solely designed for and by us to the office administration. This provides the complete details of the students, Teachers, non-teaching staff and of the parents. It is user friendly. It is designed in such a way that with one click, you can get the complete details of the students. It provides the past history of every student, including his academic and other areas etc.
- SFS for Others
The SFS School, Vaniyambadi together with the FOF (Friends of Fransalians) of the school started a project called SFS for others. Through this project, we helped the local government schools in and around Vaniyambadi. This academic year, we raised Rs.40, 000 and distributed to different schools. This amount was handed over by Rev. Fr. K. Ignacimuthu, Msfs, the provincial of the Province to the School Pupil Leader. On that day we had a beneficiary with us, Mr. Sathiya Murthi, the Head master of the School at Nethaji Nagar. Rev. Fr. George Parampukattil, General Councilor -in-charge of Education handed over to him a Speaker set worth Rs.16, 500. In order to help this project, two donation boxes have been set up in the school and we do encourage the children and the teachers to donate during their birthdays and special days.Bro. S.
