Kunnathur is located 12 km away from Trichy. However, it comes under the civil District of Pudukkottai.The total area of our land is almost six acres. It was purchased on 15 March 2007. The Provincial house community came into existence here, after the inauguration of the new Provincialate at Kunnathur on 5 December 2009. The house was blessed by Most Rev. Dr. Antony Devotta, the Bishop of Trichy and inaugurated by Very Rev. Fr. Agnelo Fernandes, the Superior General in the presence of Rev. Fr. Thomas Cherukat, the Assistant General. Formerly the provincial house community was in Pudukkottai, together with the members of SFS School community. Rev. Fr.A.Lawrence, the former Provincial and Fr. S. Wilson Fernando, the Bursar were the only two members of the community in Kunnathur,until Fr. S. Alexander was appointed as the Superior in February 2010. Fr. S. Antony Rajeshand Fr. A. Jaganathan who were secretaries to the Provincial in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 respectively were also part of this community. The Provincialate serves also as a transit house, which accommodates the confreres who are preparing to take up various missions in and outside India. Fr. D. Robert, Fr. C.Sebastian Raj, Fr. P. Johnson Jeyabal, Fr. A. Patrick, Fr. M. Rajkumar, Fr. S. Simon Raja, Fr. A. Jayaraj, Fr. S. Eldin Bernard, Fr. AJR. Benedict, Fr. F. Justin and Fr. S.Johnson had their residence here at different periods of time. Fr. R. Mathias, Fr. G. Jagannathan and Fr.D.Arockiaraj are at present resident here. From 2012, the community consists of four members namely Fr.A.Dharmaraj, the Provincial, Fr. S. Wilson Fernando, the Bursar, Fr. L. Sahaya Baskar, the Secretaryand Fr. D. Johnson. The confreres who reside at the Provincialate do render their pastoral and spiritual service to the nearby parishes and religious institutions.
